Tabea Wink is an internationally acclaimed recorder player.
She has been awarded the Bavarian Arts Promotion Prize and received scholarships from the German Music Competition and TONALi. She was also selected for the German Music Council’s concert promotion programme for the 2025/26 and 2026/27 seasons. In addition, she won First Prize at the TARF Early Music Competition in Tel Aviv, received the RAM Scholarship in London, and won First Prize at the ORDA Competition in Amsterdam.
Last year, she recorded her debut album in Mallorca together with pianist Pau Cladera-Marroig. This year, she followed with another production with her ensemble Barock_Plus.
Tabea Wink is currently pursuing her postgraduate studies in the Meisterklasse programme at the Nuremberg University of Music with Prof. Jeremias Schwarzer and Prof. Maurice Steger. Previously, she studied with Annette Berryman at the Municipal Music School in Braunschweig and specialised in Renaissance polyphony with Prof. Pedro Sousa-Silva in Porto.
Described by the Bühl newspaper as “technically brilliant and endowed with infectious musicality”, she has performed on numerous international stages. Her concert tours have taken her to Ecuador, Colombia, Portugal, Spain (Mallorca), Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Poland, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom and the United States (Los Angeles), among others.
As a soloist, she has performed with orchestras and ensembles including the Staatsorchester Braunschweig, Orchester des Wandels, Ensemble Resonanz, Israeli Barrocade, Sinfonia Varsovia and the Göttinger Symphonieorchester. She has shared the stage with prominent artists such as Maurice Steger, Tanja Tetzlaff and Harald Lesch. Together with Maurice Steger, she also co-directed a masterclass at the Musik-Kurswochen Arosa.
After winning eight consecutive First Prizes at the German national “Jugend musiziert” competition between 2011 and 2018, she was appointed to the competition’s national jury in 2026.
A particular focus of her artistic work is her collaboration with contemporary composers, including Moritz Eggert, Sandeep Bhagwati, Liza Lim, Dai Fujikura and Violeta Dinescu, as well as with concert designers such as Folkert Uhde. She develops innovative concert formats that combine music with other art forms, including dance, theatre, synchronised swimming and live visual coding. Her engagements have taken her to festivals such as the Penderecki Festival in Warsaw, the Beethovenfest Bonn, the Kölner Philharmonie, the Elbphilharmonie and the Rheingau Music Festival.
Tabea Wink has received support from renowned institutions including the Lyra Foundation, the Forberg-Schneider Foundation, Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now, the M. Wagner Foundation and the Sparda-Bank Hannover Foundation. She is also a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes).
